Hi - thanks so much for a great product. It's really appreciated. I was
wondering if you could add the Most Recently Used in Corel Word Perfect to the cleaning routine.

    Thanks

    Joe

    Joe727 -

While this would be a handy addition to MRUBlaster, I don't know if there are enough of us Corel users to justify the effort. Perhaps in the next version, though ....?

    Hi Joe,

About which version of WordPerfect are you talking?
Please, could you give some more details?

I thought Javacool had it covered.
JC and me talked some months ago about an older version of WP.
    Maybe I missed something

    Thanks, Jan.

I use WP7 myself and, from what I recall from trying an earlier version of MRUBlaster, it didn't do anything there. If, however, FanJ says that Javacool has taken care of this, I'll have to give it another shot ... right after I get my little problem with SpywareBlaster3 dealt with!

    Hi,

It was around 15-18 March 2003 at the Gladiator forum that Javacool and I talked about it.
At the moment I cannot find that thread, maybe my fault...

Anyhow, here comes some prove that MRUBlaster does work on my system (W 98 SE Dutch) for WordPerfect 9 and Quattropro 9.

    I made a test file in WP-9 : test-one

    And in QP-9 : test-two

    Then I ran MRUBlaster.
You see that there are items in it for them:

I let MRUBlaster clean all items.

Then I looked again in WP, and that document test-one is gone from the list:

And then I looked in QP, and that document test-two is gone from the list:

So: to me it looks like MRUBlaster is working right :)

I didn't disbelieve you, FanJ. All I said was that, with an earlier version of MRUBlaster, there was no effect on the RecentFiles menu of WordPerfect7, which is what I use. If this has been dealt with in a newer version of MRUBlaster, and it seems that it has been, I'll have to give the most recent version a try. If it works in my version, it should be safe to assume that it will also work in Joe727's version 8.

Hi - MRU Blaster might work for Corel 9, but it does not work for Corel 8.

    Thanks again.

    Hi Joe and Dangitall,

I will try to give you some advice where to look in your registry for the items that Javacool needs to be informed about to add them to MRUBlaster.

But at the moment I'm not sure whether I will have succes on this..... (oops, forgive my poor English).

Not a problem, FanJ. Anything you can do will be greatly appreciated. Realistically though, is it worth the effort? I mean, how many people are still using these two 'ancient' programs?

(And your English is far, far better than anything I can do in Dutch!)

    Hi,

Here are coming some suggestions where you can look at your registry.

    Please note:
    1. This was for WP version 9 .
I suppose that for other versions you can find them on an analogous place, but I'm not sure about that.
    2. There were also other programs installed like for example QuattroPro.
    3. This was on Windows 98 SE Dutch.
    4. Javacool might need the full key with all values etc.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\User Assistant\9\Recent Work\Corel Presentations\Last Opened

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\User Assistant\9\Recent Work\QuattroPro\Last Opened

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\User Assistant\9\Recent Work\WordPerfect\Last Opened

About the following keys I am not sure whether to remove their values:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\PerfectFit\9\Object Browser\StreamMRU

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\PerfectFit\9\Presentations\StreamMRU

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\PerfectFit\9\WordPerfect\StreamMRU

I don't think it is a good idea to remove values for the following keys:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\Corel Presentations\9\MRULists\MRUColor

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\Corel Presentations\9\MRULists\MRUFill

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\QuattroPro\9\MRULists\MRUFill

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\WordPerfect\9\MRULists\MRUColor

Here comes an example of the complete key with all values etc.
It is this kind of information that Javacool needs:

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\User Assistant\9\Recent
    Work\WordPerfect\Last Opened]
    "a"="E:\\Mijn documenten\\test_2003_03_15.wpd"
    "MRUList"="a"

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\User Assistant\9\Recent
    Work\WordPerfect\Last Opened\a]
    "Persistent Name"="@PFDesktop\\:MyComputer\\E:\\Mijn
    documenten\\test_2003_03_15.wpd"
    "Launch Name"="E:\\Mijn documenten\\test_2003_03_15.wpd"
    "Full Title"="E:\\Mijn documenten\\test_2003_03_15.wpd"
    "Display Name"="test_2003_03_15.wpd"
    "Time Stamp"=hex:e0,95,e5,43,f2,ea,c2,01

Well, I hope this all makes some sense.
Of course it is Javacool's decision whether he wants to add items to MRUBlaster.

    Regards, Jan.

Thanks a lot, FanJ - I copied your post into a text document and, after Javacool has gotten the problem(s) with SpywareBlaster 3 squared away, I'll bring this to his attention. ;)

Ok - thanks. No need to apologize for your English. I didn't even realize English is not your native tongue. I sure wish I could speak more than one language.
