Hello coldmoon, just wondering if there will be any development and support for 64 bit Vista and or Windows 7 in the near future?
I have heard that Windows 7 will integrate Steady State (PC Safeguard), and Microsoft has a dominant position, inherent to competition. What do you think Coldmoon?
Hi yankinNcrankin Good to hear from you again. We are working towards x64 as soon as possible and it should happen sometime during the 3x generation. I can't give you an exact date as there are some changes coming that will need testing and field trial time before we go for the big pie As for Windows 7, the team is already looking at the Betas so I expect to see something (internally) shortly following x64 success. Mike
What does anyone think when the specter of Microsoft competition is broached? I will reserve any further comment to when I actually see what they have planned. At the very least, it isn't going to stop us from doing what we are going to do or when we are going to do it... Mike
Well it will be a very happy day for me. It was quite a loss when I found out that it was not compatible. It was almost like losing a family member. Okay, well maybe that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but I truly miss it. And I do still have it on my old computer.
Outstanding. While I have NIS 2009, and 6 or 7 anti-mailware apps/widgets/extensions installed, it's not like having Returnil. Returnil removes the fear of browsing. In the meantime, anyone reading this, don't get a 64-bit version of Windows yet. No matter what you read from IT people, in the real world, there are too many things that don't work with it. When all Windows releases are 64-bit and every Windows application provider is forced to make their programs work with a 64-bit interface, then, maybe a year later, things will probably work.
Are you referring to XP 64-Bit or Vista 64-Bit? I run Vista 64-Bit and have never had a problem finding a driver or application that doesn't run on my Vista 64-Bit. You should do your homework before you make blank statements.
I know that it is not available yet. I was just responding to the guy that said he has never found a program that was uncompatible with Vista 64 bit. I am thinking that maybe he has not tried Returnil or Sandboxie. I am very grateful that Returnil will eventually have have a compatible version. It is one of the most amazing products that I have seen. I use it on my XP computer. Thanks!
