My best guess is that it is a combination of mainly Prevx technology incorporated into a Webroot wrapper, with some added Webroot technology. I'm only guessing though as I haven't seen it. It seems unlikely that the Prevx name will survive, but frankly I couldn't care less what it's called so long as it delivers. :)

Be patient young Jedi, be patient :D

Although ... Joe said that 'the wait is over' , pretty confusing huh? :argh:

IMHO, round1 of waiting is over, round2 just started, this time with cpl of screenshots :D
How long will this round last ?
According to feedback email... several weeks, which can easily be translated to months.

It is only another two or three week wait.:p

I am actually curious as to how much internal testing went into this new version? I would hope that it is pretty close to being ready for mainstream release, after a short period of beta testing time, based on the lengthy and delayed release of the beta itself. Another question is pricing?? Maybe Joe can enlighten us on this?

We still don't know the release date of the beta, we just know more info about it and are able to sign up for beta testing.

No doubt it has as I believe was for the alpha testing that has been running prior to the closed beta being announced...or at least that is the read from some of the previous posts.

Yea TH, I did sign up and I like THOUSANDS of others are waiting, waiting, and like Jeff Dunnam says of Akmed the Terrorist, "Wait for it, wait for it and then Akmed says, I keel you!" Funny every time I see it. So far nary a word about the link or approval/disapproval. Just wait and see.....:doubt:

It`s a limited and closed beta, presumably with a non disclosure agreement - so not only are vast numbers of concerned/interested people going to be disappointed for not getting chosen to test, it could be a considerable time longer before they/we will have to wait additionally before being able to get any more information about the program, let alone actually test it...
and ultimately being able to make a decision what to do in the future regarding this development of the software.

Personally, (with hindsight) I rather wouldn`t have known anything about it whatsoever until the 11th hour....so decisions could be made in a shorter period of time rather than ponder over it for months.

Yep Fad, think you're right. When the time comes, me and the majority of others that are so interested will only be able to test the REAL thing after paying REAL money to take a look. IMO, there are just to many questions that have been asked and very few answers given. Know Joe is waiting to publish a FAQ and if/when it arrives, perhaps most will be answered.

Surely looks like that's the case here.

Personally I don't understand that 'strategy' from Webroot / Prevx , whoever is behind this.
Talk about it for a year now and let the people play the 'guessing game'.
Then few days ago Joe said 'The wait is over' , well it surely isn't over.
    Funny stuff o_O

btw this is what Joe said back in March :

We are having two phases of the beta - first this closed beta which requires signup (no NDA), and then a full, open beta which is what I was referring to.

There is a logical period between first offering the beta and distributing it - we're looking to see how we'll tier the beta users (who will get the AV product, who will get additional features, etc.) and it's impossible to know that beforehand.

I'm uncertain why the conspiracy theories need to come out in such an aggravated manner...

Be pleased, emotional involved users is the wet dream of every commercial organisation.

At the moment PrevX4 is like teen age sex, every teenager is talking about it, but no on is having it.
