If you disable any of the shields, you'll get a different colour background.

When one or more shields have been disabled, it'll turn brown. If the real-time shield is off, the interface turns red.

    See here: http://www.webroot.com/En_US/Secure...3_Shielding/CH3b_Changing_Shield_Settings.htm

Like the new product, nit-picking though there is a minor inconsistency in the user interface:

In PC Security -> Block/Allow Files, the column order is Allow/Block/Monitor
In System Control -> Control Active Processes, it is Allow/Monitor/Block

That's a good point, I agree that those should be made consistent - thanks!

Is it just me, or have daily scan times been drastically reduced? According to my PC Security web console, daily scans are now all ten seconds or less on all four systems I have in my house.

Been using WSA for about a day now using the 6 months for free promo. What can I say it's awesome! :D

It's very lightweight indeed, lowest ram usage ever, and it does not slow down my PC. My PC feels much more responsive now compared to when I was using Avast.. No more lag when watching youtube video's, no slow start-up, no cpu spikes when updating, great!

Will def be replacing Avast on my mom and sister laptops with WSA too it's great :thumb:

It has been rolled out to a batch of users and we'll continue rolling it out further soon.

Average scan duration has decreased compared to in the previous versions on my end. About 25% decrease in my case. :D :thumb:

Does look like average scan duration has decreased compared to 2013 version. Have not yet benchmarked it; will try to do so over the weekend and get back...but certainly looks like it. :D

So how do you tell when you have got the new 2014 web shield/filter/engine? Does anything change in the GUI or is it all under the covers (or do you have to look for new files in WRDATA or cosmetic changes to google search results?).

This is what you will see: https://community.webroot.com/t5/We...t/New-interface-web-site-list/m-p/59903#M1822 and from the online Helpfile: http://www.webroot.com/En_US/Secure...C3_Shielding/CH3a_WhatShieldsDo.htm#kanchor43 and the warning takes up half of the Browser window instead of the 2013 little window at the top left.

    Cheers,

    TH

With all the solid free programs out there, Webroot remains the one program I am still willing to pay money for. Nothing else like it.
