Attempting to install on a new computer we get the above error at the end of the installation. Yes we have checked the other forum post regarding (111) and those folders are already present so that is not the solution. No other AV on the computer and FW temporarily shut down. No other security software is running . Any other ideas?

RR refers to registry permissions, make sure the curerntly logged user has write permission for the HKLM key and that all its subkeys inherit the same permissions.

The reference in post one was to this link. Everything mentioned was already in place.

An Admin account is being used for setup and after checking it was found that the Administrators already have full control in HKLM and HKLM\ESET was checked and full control exists there as well for Admins.

    Still a no-go.

Also do all its child keys inherit parent's permissions?

Should be so. How can this be verified?

[solved] Re: (111) Disc error RR - cannot install

    SOLVED!

The problem seems to have been that someone previously had run a scan via a portable version of NOD32 apparently from a flash drive on the computer. By having done this NOD32 had left some entries in the Registry and that had prevented the successful installation of a registered copy of the programme on the computer.

The solution was to have gone through the Registry manually searching for any NOD32 entries and deleting them. After a reboot the installation of NOD32 went off without a hitch!

Lesson - do not assume that the last AV that was reported on a computer (in this case Norton) was the only one. Do a check for NOD32 in the registry if there are any installation problems.

Thank you to everyone for your assistance.
