it is relevant to some here who have slow connections & 1.5-2.5 gb data limit per month(it's true).a majority of net users in my country use such types of connections including myself.for us it matters because many times we have to rely on offline databases(because of data limitations & not connection problems) not to mention slow speeds.those AVs which have a large offline database provides a good margin to counter the periods of being offline or unable to download updates regularly.

    Changelog for 1.0.14.889 version:

    - Performance improvements on HTTP Scan
    - Performance improvements on AUTO Scan (starting with the second Full AutoScan)
    - QuickSweep every 2 days, FullScan every 2 weeks
    - On Disinfect, all infected files are quarantined; no file will be deleted anymore
    - Laptop Mode for AutoScan (automatically postpones itself when on battery)
    - On-Demand (Right click in Explorer) no longer scan for Memory (<system>)
    - AutoScan status doesn't influence the Active Infections (Pending Cleanup) scan (on reboot)
    - Fixed ChkDsk block at boot
    - MalwareBytes is no longer marked as incompatible solution

Todo / In progress for the next update:

Not yet (from GZ interface); still, we've decided to make this interim update to cover some improvements, fixes and the "Delete" issue

L.E. The "Quarantine" in BDAVFree works differently than a "normal" one:
    - files are not "moved to a safe location"
    - but renamed (in the same folder/path)
    - and locked (by gz file system driver) for read/write/execute
    - the files are not encrypted

    So, one can "simply" :)
    - turn off real time protection
    - go to safe mode and
    - rename the file (actually, remove the gzquar extension)

Of course, after the next update, all this steps will be forgotten ;)

So...when will we get proper quarantine restoring? Not much of a point in quarantining objects automatically if you can't restore them.

it's way better than getting deleted system file like in older version, but as stated, temporary solution

No, the older version still had protections in place to prevent that from happening, according to Iulika.

Just for critical system files, not for "your" keygen/application/..

Ok, but still, you can't restore anything from the quarantine, and you can't exclude files (right?), which means that to use one of these apps I have to turn off BitDefender, find the file, rename it, use it, and then turn on BDAV again, which is an enormous pain in the ass.

Oh, so I have to go into safe mode too, just to use a keygen. That's just peachy.

Cool. Thanks for the update. I'll wait for Unified Exclude system of BDAV, better than the auto-delete thing. gonna try it today.

So the next update will be next week? or shorter than that?

We are in the development of other solutions too (e.g. "60seconds scan") which "delayed" even this update..
So, expect a few weeks (let's assume 3) until the next update

Unified Exclude system would not have been possible without resolving the Delete issue first..

Thanks for your answer. counting the days down as we speak :D
How do we treat the files in quarantine now?
Report the false positives to Bitdefender and will the files then be restored?
