Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

I used HMP build 91 on a pc running XP 32-bit that would not boot into Normal mode. In safe mode it was 640x480 and upon opening HMP the screen did not resize nor could I manually resize anything at all. I am unable to see all of the HMP GUI so I must use the keyboard to blindly navigate. I have the pc in my possession until this afternoon if you'd like any additional info.

Interesting, I thought this was fixed in either 90 or 91, Hitman would resize the screen automatically to display itself property. I think you can force resolution in Safe Mode via this link or alternatively, you can run Hitman from command line

    Hi erikloman,

Why Avira's icon is not in Build 92? Is it a bug or Avira's detection removed from Hitman?

In agreement with Avira we have currently disabled their scanner in our Scan Cloud. We are going to work together on a different level so they will return in the very near future. Files previously identified by Avira are still shown in the scan results though, only new unknown files are currently not being processed by Avira.

While we are talking about scanners in our cloud: a BIG vendor has expressed its wish to join our Scan Cloud. Stay tuned ;)

A big vendor? I do hope it is Kaspersky?

And you said Avira will return in some other way soon? Is it strange I am thinking that Hitman Pro is going to include some kind of realtime protection? Maybe Avira's behaviour blocker of version 10?

If that two things really happen, i will drop all other security except for Windows default and Hitman Pro =).

Kaspersky would be really nice :)
If there is going to be realtime protection in future releases, it would be nice to keep the on demand version too(Or at least an option to not install the realtime component.)

From what I understand it at least was in the plans, so I really hope it'll be here sometime and as awesome as the on-demand technology - light and fierce. :D

Well if there is real-time included just have the ability to turn it off and use it On-demand only!

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

I hope this is not the wrong place to report the following issue.

I have installed HitMan Pro 3.5 on my laptop with Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit.
Two days ago HitMan Pro 3.5 reported the following issue (see attached image, please)

I decided to repair Winsock2 but after rebooting I was no longer able to get connected to my Local Area Network and as a consequence to the internet.
I restored a system restore point and everything went fine.
The sole program that I had installed before was Vmware Player v 3.1

I wonder if anyone got the same issue.

While on my Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit, HitMan pro v 3.5 works perfectly.
I started to suggest this small gem to some friends, a couple of them could get rid of some nasty rootkits.

Can you click on the little left arrow to show which engine is detecting this?

    Thanks,

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

    Hi Triple Helix,
I'm sorry no antivirus engine is displayed. That might sound strange, I know,
I only can repair or not repair.

    Thanks

[EDIT to add] For sure, ESET NOD32 v 4, a-squared free and PREVX 3 do not detect this "threat" since I have installed all of them on this PC

explain to me exactly how adding another vendors database to the scanning is a bad thing? maybe its not ur preferred one, but u cant argue that having another database included culd possibly be a negative to detection, more databases = good for a scanner.

Adding another vendor is not a bad thing, just specifically McAfee. Personal experience its a crappy AV. My place of work uses it for the last 3 years. I know very well its not a good product. At least the enterprise version.

but its not adding mcafee, its adding their detections, and more detections can never be bad.
