Hi, guys & dolls how are u. :)

This is not specific about ZA, allthough ZA is the indicator.
Related: Win 98II, IE 6 (all updated), Zonealarm 5.1.033

Some websites that i visit, including wilders forum, will trigger a "id lock alert" from ZA.
I have entered my two main account logins in the "ID vault" of ZA.

    If denied, sites won't load.

    Can someone offer me insight?

    Thanks :)

Hi Bubba, thanks for the welcome :)

    Im probarbly not clear.

    Other words:
-Why do (some) websites "pull" the password info?
    -Is that Secure?

Im not referring to a user login (interface) session.
It occurs when i open a website, in IE.

I do have ZA pro btw.

Sorry....I must be having one of those days....but are you asking about sending password info as clear text and is that what you mean when you say....websites "pull" the password info ?

You might have to draw me a picture :)

    Lmao, no worries...

Darn im such a noob sometimes lol..

    As i see it:

The content of a website requests (via) IE to hand over my pasword lists,
    or a similar action,
..Resulting in a Alert from ZA pro's "IDlock" feature:
-that data stored in ZA's "ID VAULT" is about to be sent to ip:"of the website"
-Wich i am offered to accept or deny.

..If denied, the session is aborted "page cant be loaded", and i have to restart IE to work. (Similar like if u deny a dll acces in ZA component mode.)

The data in the IDvault: Login passwords from my dsl/domain accounts.

    Question:
-Why is the Private data requested, is this normal, are websites perhaps infected, collecting data, concerning user-accounts & possibly more, or otherwise?

    or..

-Am i infected? Though, the alert doesnt come combined with a component acces alert, although the component could well have been granted acces in another context, ofcourse.

    (Recently updated & runned/running:AVG free, mrublaster-Spywareblaster&guard-spybotsS&D-adaware se-hijack this.)

ur turn lol (tnx for the attention tho :)

I have the same issue with visiting certain sites. ID lock will come on. If I deny the site will load properly still with firefox 1.0. The last site that did this was www.blackviper.com.

I also am lately getting ID lock alerts when I visit web sites (that should be trustworthy). This is for my home phone number and sometimes my SSN. These are not items that I enter on any web forms ever. I do not know where the information is being pulled from. It is NOT in my password lists. It is not in any cookies. I did a complete plain text search for these items on my hard disk. The only place they show up (unencrpyted) is in some old emails. I am sure I have this information in quicken files, etc encoded in some fashion beside plain text. Though I believe this must be a trojan/virus/spyware of some sort, scans with various products produce no results. I am to the point where I believe that I must reinstall the OS. Does anyone have information.
