Recently I was poking around Softpedia and YouTube looking for a new browser to give a spin and by fortuitous chance stumbled across the Zen Browser. ZB is based on the Firefox engine and currently a beta version browser in the making. ZB appears to receive an enthusiastic reception both by Softpedia clients and YouTube reviewers alike. Via different websites and movie streaming, this is an impressively fast responding browser. It was a bit awkward adjusting to tabs being located on the left panel but this soon came to pass. The Zen browser is 100% compatible with Sandboxie and hassle-free with websites that host free movie streaming. It's also a flexible browser respective to speed dial add-ons such as Swift Dial. Especially in context with the aforementioned Swift Dial extension, don't let the aspect of "tabs on the left panel" scare you away. Seems most likely a hideous GUI proposition, right? ZB settings with or without Swift Dial offers a "Collapsed Tool Bar" setting which renders all open tabs less than a 3rd-of-an-inch real estate on the left panel. And a cool factor is when you hover the mouse cursor over an open tab it will show detailed visual and text illustrations of the website and page information you're looking at. Any other material observations? On my Win 10 set-up, other Firefox branches such as Librewolf and Floorp do not play nice with random free movie website streaming. Moreover, the stand alone Firefox browser itself cannot be used in conjunction with Sandboxie out of the box without the toil and trouble of tinkering with settings, code, etc.

Bottom line. The Zen Browser is a real keeper imho. Not to be missed.

Full disclosure--->>> I have no ownership nor investment interest in this browser whatsoever. Although I wish I did.

p.s. Attempted to upload a full screen shot of Zen with Swift Dial using a Micha Lobi painting as the background. Received numerous error messages that the file was too large to upload. Oh, well. And all by the way... check out Micha Lobi's art that's unabashedly a bit bent if that pulls your trigger.

Interesting, but how to get rid of the annoying sidebar with tabs? I just want to have a normal tabbar on bottom of the screen.

You cannot. The dev has said so.

I gave the browser a run and it's not bad at all. It's quick and has many features I like, works well with Sandboxie, but.... I'm not too keen on the tab setup I'm afraid.

any firefox fork owner is free to modify or force its setup. nevertheless a lot of forks come with preinstalled extensions and some special settings. all of those forks are boiling only water, means: settings of original firefox (except torbrowser and mulvad browser)
too many forks lacks actualitiy. good to know: some built-in extensions do not preserve your privacy. or they are unwanted. too many come, too many go.

firefox is offering vertical tabs, but at this time that feature is not ready. so ZB is using an extension for its need for sure.
hint: after creating a profile just compare the prefs.js to firefox default profile, surprise, surprise.
