When is HP and others going to get right and understand that serious computer user's are not amused by the additional unnecessary/unneeded BLOAT APPS crammed into their purchase. They can't be THAT hard up for money to frustrate their customers of their products can they? User's will just uninstall all that junk. So what's the use or purpose?

Not only, but this way of operating is also a form of violence and imposition. I live in UE and I hope that a day finally UE will act to limit the unlimited power of multinational companies as Google, Amazon, Facebook, Microsoft....... It's necessary for democracy, economy, freedom of citizens

Agreed, so this won't be a problem for me. That said if they are going to put stuff like this on a PC it should be free.

HP isn't after serious computer users, they're after the average uniformed consumer who walks into Best Buy or Staples and asks for advice. But all the other makers follow suit, probably because it's a source of revenue for them, and I'm guessing it's a low percentage of buyers who won't buy a product because of the pre-installed software. Those who are aware will just uninstall the apps, or do a clean install. The makers likely know this and don't care.

I read claims in the past that Dell does such things because otherwise their profit margin is $1 per PC. Whether or not that was true or still is I cannot verify but if installing garbage software is how they make their money they are going to keep doing it.

I wasn't claiming google specifically, just crapware in general. Ultimately it is the same thing, including junk for profit because it is probably where they are seeing the most of it.

From what I understood, it will end up on most new PC's from other vendors too. I never heard of the Google Essentials app before, but it does sound like bloatware. But it's probably not as bad as the McAfee Internet Security crap that I need to uninstall everytime I reinstall my Lenovo PC's.
