Hi all. Will disabling system restore in Windows XP improve its performance? I'm pretty good at updating images of my system so if XP does crap out on me, I'm pretty well covered.

    Thanks in advance,

    Joe

    Hello Joe,

Unless one remembers to regularly remove old Windows restore points, backup images will get progressively bigger (and hence take longer to create). Like you, I regularly create new images and decided some time ago to disable the Windows system restore feature. In any case, the system restore feature is about as much use as an ashtray on a motorcycle if your OS or hard drive gets trashed!!

    Regards
