Your quickest and easiest option is an anonymous remote proxy, such as IDZap.com or Anonymizer.com (and IDZap has free or subscription versions of its service).  IEClean can give you email protection by spoofing the return addresses of your accounts, fuzz the agent-type and other stuff, and proxo can easily discombobulate the referrer field.  JAP is a goodie too, and it's free - anon.inf.tu-dresden.de - but sometimes the service can be down.

Most of all, never post or email anything with identifying information in it (your name, address... :) )

    HTH

    Edit for link typo

sn00py - Make sure you've got all the basics nailed down first, okay? Is your copy of XP fully patched? Everything up-to-date? Do you know what all to do with the 'administrator'-type stuff and have you got everything there set correctly? Are you set up with the FAT32 or the other? (Sorry, don't use XP myself, but I've heard other people refer to these things in relation to it). Pete

A very nice site concerning all XP (Pro) issues:

    www.blkviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm

note: disable ActiveX if enabled. For some reasons the site uses this.

    regards.
