I am in the process of upgrading from Windows ME to XP-SP2. Yeah, I know, I'm behind the times!

When I ran the MS Upgrade Advisor the report of hardware conflicts/ incompatibilities has "Acronis Devices: Acronis TrueImage Backup Archive Explorer" listed. What's going on here? I thought TI 8 was XP compatible. I've installed the new build -- will that clear up the problem (logic says not, since XP's been around for awhile)? Or do I need to uninstall TI 8 before upgrading, then reinstall TI again once XP is up and running? If I uninstall TI, and, for some reason the XP installation fails, will I be able to revert to my backed-up version by booting from the rescue boot diskettes (since TI will no longer be on the hard drive at that point)?

Thanks for any help and insight you can offer!

    Hello Pamyla,

Thank you for using Acronis True Image (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

You will be able to restore the image even if you haven't got it installed on the hard drive. After the installation of Windows XP please install Acronis True Image from scratch.

    Thank you.
