    Hi,

I hope this post will save someone as much time as I wasted on this!

Don't use www.eset.sk as your hostname for downloading updates. It may once have been a valid address but it appears to have stopped being updated.

What I mean by this is that:

    • The hostname still resolves (217.67.22.ninety eight) (damn smilies)
    • http://www.eset.sk/nod_upd/update.ver is still a valid URL
    • It claims there are no updates newer than 30/03/2007 available (incorrect)

I'm using nod32umc for Linux, and www.nod32.com works fine.

The frustrating thing about this is that if Eset don't plan on maintaining this hostname anymore then they should at least delete the old files so we can get an error back. Or, even better, put in an HTTP redirect to the new location/s.

    Thanks

    - Andrew

As of v. 2.7, nod32umc supports automatic update server selection. It is strongly recommended that you use this feature, otherwise you may cease getting updates when some of the servers are removed.

Is that version 2.7 or 2.07?

Thanks for that, I'll upgrade to the new version. But I think a simple HTTP redirect on your web servers would save a lot of time and hassle.
