    • Delaying tab loading until they're selected so that errors that might result have a better context.
      • This does result in a delay of displaying of a coupe of them as data is gathered.
    • Removed dependency to AutoFac.
      • Older versions of Windows have been getting errors regarding "System.ValueTuple".
      • Thank you to @Cereal-Killa for working on a solution to this.
    • Adding Enable/Disable All Services button.
    • Adding Select/Deselect All Apps for Declutter.
    • Moved "Hosts File" tab to Legacy.
      • This has spawned a few issues and emails because of collisions with Windows Defender.
      • Also not the best way to block Windows Updates so isn't particularly relevant anymore.

Hi. Is anyone using this program now? Is it reliable?

On my wife's laptop - it is.

On mine - it partially stopped working (perhaps I unintentionally sc#ewed it up somehow)

Thanks Korben. I have been thinking about it. The issue in Windows that is kind of pushing me to use this program or some sort of program like this is The News and Interest issue. The issue is supposedly fixed now (according to the article below), if it is, then I probably won't start using the program. Appreciate your reply.

I've been using Windows Update Blocker for awhile now in Win 10 Home and have been very happy with it. https://www.sordum.org/9470/windows-update-blocker-v1-8/

Just one click to disable or enable. I enable it when I want to check updates and I use Windows Update MiniTool for that. Download and install what I want and hide the rest. Then disable updates again. Easy peasy. Since I started using this method I haven't received any sneaky backdoor updates as far as I know.

Thanks Phil. Those words at the end (as far as I know) with Windows they are so true.

This program and WUMT are also on my sight. I read that it has a portable version. To me, that makes it attractive but I haven't found the Zip or installer for that version. Do you know if it is still available. One thing I liked about the link you posted is that it has a lot of comments dated recently. Of all this programs, this is the only program that I noticed that.

I guess the version you are using is the regular install, if that is the case can you tell me Where does the program saves its Ini file. I reckon is probably in Windows, is that where it is? Are you disabling medic via the Ini file? Thanks. :)

There's a ZIP download at Softpedia, that's the one I have. https://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Windows-Update-Blocker.shtml It saves the INI file to the portable folder. Nothings is saved in AppData or anywhere else. As far as I know there isn't an installed version but I could be wrong.

I disabled all the services from the program interface in Menu>Service List Options. Wuauserv is disable by default. Under "Disabled Service Type" I selected "Disable" for all the rest. Update Medic Service is WaasMedicSvc. This will disable all those services when you select Disable from the program's main window.

Phill, thanks for the link to the Zip download. The programs sounds pretty simple, if I get to install one of this type of programs, I ll install WUB or Wu10Man.

Another good one is Win update stop, NoThanksVirus. $9 a year, reasonable. One click also.

Korben, this is what I did (pause updates), I have updates paused till De 1 2025, and left all the services enabled. Disabling the services triggers the computer to sent windows errors messages to MS like every 5 minutes. I think that is likely to make the computer use too many resourcees for that but I think the Pause option is going to work. Perhaps you can try that in the computer that has an issue with WU10man. Look below.

This looks plausible enough for me to look into the matter - appreciate it, mate!
