I don't want to duplicate a thread already in another forum section,
but considering what WSA has done in such a short period of time is really tremendous.
It is very nice to see such a strong performance detecting 0 day malware.

Removal of all active components of widespread malware (including Rootkits and stealth malware)

Removal of further malicious components and remediation of critical system modifications

Above seems to be on low side - will improvements be made to improve above ?

Yes, there already have been (and anyway, unless you're infected before installing WSA, removal isn't all that relevant :))

    :O ...

    That's old! Lol

If they tested one of the 100 versions it would have been probably near perfect score

How good would Prevx3 perform in that test? Similar or the same detection rates?

    No, WSA's protection/detection is superior to P3.

    PrevxHelp "WSA's protection/detection is superior to P3."

It's a different product entirely. Some users want P3 still.

yeah I was wondering the same thing.....since Prevx is a different product entirely, then two products of the same vendor cannot claim to be the lightest and fastest security , right?......

A problem or not ? Prevx was and is one hell of a efficient program, and wsa is nothing less than genius. :thumb: :)

Does that mean that Prevx 3 and SafeOnline are still being developed in terms of bug fixes, additional features, support for recent browser versions, etc?

If not, potential customers should be made aware of the fact that they are buying a functionally stabilised product with no prospects of any future software development, bug fixes, or support for recent browser versions when they purchase a license.

It is misleading and possibly unethical to continue to sell Prevx 3 and SafeOnline without explicitly mentioning on the Prevx website that these old products have now been superseded by Webroot SecureAnywhere. Potential users have a right to be clearly informed as to the current situation before purchasing a license.

There was actually one link on Prevx's website that would normally take you to their order page, but instead it took me to a page introducing WSA.

For some reason, they haven't enabled that page for all the "buy Prevx" links.

I suspect the current situation is probably more to do with Webroot not bothering to update the Prevx website rather than any deliberate intent to mislead.

Nonetheless, the Prevx website is misleading as it doesn't explicitly state that Prevx 3 is end-of-life software that has been superseded by WSA (Prevx 4). I don't have an issue with Webroot continuing to sell Prevx 3 to people who want it, but I do think they should make it clear on the Prevx website that it is end-of-life software so that prospective customers know what they are purchasing.

It wouldn't be so bad if the Prevx to WSA migration path had been completed, but it still hasn't after all this time. If someone did mistakenly purchase Prevx 3, not realising that they could have purchased WSA instead, they wouldn't at the present time be able to swap the Prevx license for a WSA license.

If you've just purchased a P3 license with one year remaining, we can convert it manually. An inexact duration (i.e. 163 days remaining) can't be converted at the moment, but that's what we're working on.

I have to step in and definitely give Prevx/Webroot LOTS of praise for this. They are VERY good about giving you the product you want if you contact them with a new license.

Look how generous they are with the buying of old 2011 licenses and upgrading free!

Doesn't alter the fact that the Prevx website is misleading though. I can't agree that it's right to sell end-of-life software without making it clear to prospective customers in advance that that is what they are buying.
