Hi, The firewall is like a fw extender. Is it good? Are there any plans to make it more feature packed like other suite fw or standalone fw in a bid to make it stronger? Best Wishes, Amit
There isn't a need to make it more extended - the Windows firewall already does a very good job at covering off the other parts so you're fully protected with WSA and the Windows firewall.
I prefer a firewall extender. That allows me to use any other network firewall I want to without them conflicting, but still get the benefits of a network firewall system that is malware-aware. The advanced features of the firewall in 7 allows for detailed port blocking, and that's built in to the OS. But that's my personal preference.
Amit, it is no secret that I have had great success running WSA & Privatefirewall together for many months on many Win7 x64 systems. It's not that I don't "trust" WSA's firewall helper, it's just that Privatefirewall has a free HIPS and it is a bit more "robust" than the one in Win7.
It has certainly been flawless for me; I had similar thoughts early on but found Windows 7 and now 8 plus WSA Complete is more than enough for me.
Thanks a lot for sharing your experience Rompin. Now I'm convinced the fw would be more than enough for me.
