    Just for interest:
    See here:
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=350337

With my config: (of course multiple background services etc etc) using WSA and after updating FF and the Flash player, going through 'elimination' drill, I had to turn off WSA to get flash pages to load. That, obviously, was not a good option.

Bit more research...Subsequently, turning off the FF "crash reporter" stopped the problem.
Now WSA on and no current lockups.

There seems to be lots of posts here and there suggesting some problems with the FF reporter, LOL, never mind the complaints about Adobe and FF together and the really hairy suggestions on Mozilla forums. :)

Anyone care to try and reproduce?
    Any one else had similar?

Could you see if there are any Flash components listed under the Identity Shield's applications list as "Deny"? It may be that we didn't whitelist them early enough and they're being blocked from accessing the browser.

    Thanks!

    Sure ... and no.
    Nothing there.

Just so I'm not misleading you in any way, can you be as specific as possible.

    Currently, nothing specific blocked in:
    Quarantine
    Networked apps
    No websites specifically blocked
Most settings at default: possibly a little tighter.

    &

    Shields: all on

    Can I send you anything?

Any opining by me as to cause effect would be at best speculative,...so I wont.

While I was searching around trying to problem solve (Lot of blind alleys out there !!, google search getting worse !) I saw a couple of many references to buggy interactions btwn FF v20+ and Adobe 11.3xxx +.
In fact heh all versions of FF and the players, on Adobe and FF forums, and what seemed like formal; bug reports.

One suggestion that popped up a bit was to downgrade to Player 10.4. as the last stable version  : perhaps not really a good option.

Many threads suggested turning off Crash Reporter +/- Telemetry as a useful option.

A couple of threads referenced recent MS updates as root of problem.

Heres an example of a simple search
    https://www.google.com.au/search?q=...08,d.aGc&fp=ab5b7527b514333b&biw=1236&bih=670

Here is Mozilla's "Flash Troubleshooting" page ...
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Flash#Troubleshooting

As a general rule I have very little trouble with FF/Player so this was interesting. What I saw was reproducible here; but cause o_O

My Event viewer shows nothing specific I can see.
No MS crash so no minidumps.

Its cool being able to go straight to source with these little issues: Get them squared away quick.

Happy to help if I can.

PS: if the thread title sounds a little alarmist or provocative, I'm happy to modify it.

If you could write into our customer support inbox by visiting here: http://detail.webrootanywhere.com/servicetalk.asp they will be able to take a closer look at your logs. My guess is still that something hasn't been whitelisted fully and they should be able to resolve it from there.

    Let me know your results!

TH: never said it was .. just pointing out a possible anomaly/interaction, that might have been of interest.

If you read my posts in both threads, I did uninstall/reinstall, debug the addons, and plugins, turn off security and restart security apps : and the WSA effect was part of that.

I'll just wait and see if Webroot has any specific response.
If not: down to experience, or just some tangle somewhere that may never recur.
    Regards

No offense but I'm checking for myself and I don't see any problems as I was trying to reproduce what your seeing. Did you contact the WSA support inbox? If so what did they have to say?

    TH ;)
