    Not least because so many commentators just will not say it how it really is. Decades of the industry deliberately implenting weak security, exploitable code and backdoors to allow government agencies and corporations easy access to our data and communications has left the entire infrastructure in the state it is in today. This is only exasperated when commentators write pieces that imply or claim this is the unintended result of a lack of action. The casually interested masses read such and believe it while those of us who work in IT for the past two decades know the truth is very different.
