    Hello,

Can somebody explain me advantage of using a Workstation version of the Acronis backup on a standalone computer? I tried to search this forum but cannot find a clear explanation for the benefit of the Workstation version except that “it is more reliable”. What does it mean in real life? Does it mean that the Home version does not use the Volume Shadow copy service?
From other side, I see only disadvantages in using the Workstation version for the standalone computer: it requires running a license server, cannot manage backup quotas and more expensive.

    Thank you, Toller

    Hello Toller,

You can check some comparison information regarding Acronis True Image 9.1 Workstation and Acronis True Image 11 Home.

Please note that you're able to manage backup quotas with Acronis True Image 9.1 Workstation using Backup Server tool. Acronis Universal Restore add-on can be counted as one of advantages of Acronis True Image 9.1 Workstation too.

Please note that Volume Shadow Copy Service is used by Acronis True Image 11 Home for System State backup.

    Thank you.
