Acronis True Image 8 or 9

My older computer boots from the recovery cd quite prompty to begin to restore an image but my 3 megahertz computer with a gig of ram first took over 5 minutes to boot into the screen to begin starting to restore an image and now it doesn't show the please wait screen at all but rather shows a blank black screen and hangs.

    TIA
    Any suggestions?

    Hello djarmb,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Could you please let us know the build number of the product, which you can find in the Help -> About dialog (it should be a 3 or 4 digit number)?

I would recommend you to try the "acpi=off noapic" workaround described in Acronis Help Post.

If this workaround does not help then please create Acronis Report and Linux system information (sysinfo.txt) as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

Please create an account, then log in and submit a request for technical support. Attach the collected report file and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.

the "acpi=off noapic" workaround seemed to fix the problem but it still took over 10 minutes to bring up the "pick a task" screen in dos. Why does it take so long?

    TIA
