Wishlist - WOL

A Wake On LAN feature would be most useful.

We run scans before staff arrive in the morning. We have to use a script to WOL at present.

Would be useful if ESET could do it for us!

Not sure what you mean exactly but ekrn gets suspended by the operating system when it goes to sleep mode.

 

I'm assuming he wants the WOL feature built into ERAS to send the WOL packet to the computer to wake it up as part of a task.

 

Then it won't work as it's ekrn running on clients which contacts ERAS and initiates a connection.

Indeed, it would be useful for the ESET Server to send a WOL packet to the computer a few minutes before it initiates a scan.

Is that statement correct? - A WOL Packet should not rely on ekrn.

 

I too would like to see this feature in the ERA Console.
as i understand it, a Wake on lan package (MagicPackage) is a network package containing the target computers MAC adress 16 times

the console already have the nessesary information (MAC adress)
