winrar problem

    Hi, a while ago i used that offer to get a free winrar key and it worked fine and said registered. but today i downloaded the newer version 3.6 from 3.5 and when i put the text file in the folder it dont find it and still says 40 day trial.

    what can i do?

    The offer was only valid for 3.5 .... it didn't apply to any upgrades. ;) .... Remove 3.6 (deleting all folder contents) and re-install 3.5 should do the trick. ;)

    thanks Dog I installed the 3.5 version over the top and its back now to being registered.

    Glad to hear it. :)

    WinRAR is the best archiver I'ver used to date ... but 3.5 should more than suit your needs -- (no need to purchase the newer version ... but should you wish to, the fact that it's a one time purchase makes it more than worth it. :))

    its the best archiver i have used as well and during my clear out of programs that can be replaced by lighter versions i uninstalled winzip and now use winrar only.

    I concur, under Windows I too only use WinRAR. ;) :cool:

    You mean to say that you never used PowerArchiver? :D

    Got it too, but recently switched to WinRar, due to slow starting up from PA.
    Both are really good, but once using WinRar I won't be switching back. :D :)

    Just a week ago I decided to purchase PowerArchiver 2006, because it supports more CD images, like Nero's NRG format.
    If I knew about the free winrar key sooner...

    Pity, but not too late to change your mind in the future.
    It's a one time purchase, same as PowerArchiver. :cool:
