Hi... I've been having problems getting into my windows firewall. I'm not sure when it happened but when I went into it I noticed it was off.
When I tried to get into my firewall settings this is what it says.....
" Can not display becase the associated service is not running"
IT ASKS ME IF I WANT TO RUN IT.. I say ok..Then
"Windows cannot start the Windows firewall/internet connection sharing ICS service"
I went into micosoft windows and done what they said and I'm still unable to enter...
Got any ideas what happen? And how I can get it back on?

Start, run, type services.msc and scroll down to the windows firewall line, double click the line and see if it is disabled. If so, start the service.

By the way Slippers, Welcome to Wilders. :D

have you done any tweaking? sounds like you may have disabled some features that you need. start here:

go to start>control panel>administration tools>services. scroll down and see if you have windows firewall/internet connection sharing (icf) disabled. if so, right click-it and select properties. change start-up type to enabled.

you may want to try scanning with ad-aware or spybot search& destroy. they are both free and can remove most infections. i use them both along with spywareblaster, which is usually good to install once your system is clean.
