Hi, everyone, I just ran a scan with Secunia PSI. It informed me of that MSMXL Core Services was outdated. I immediately ran windows update, and found no updates. Having looked on the Secunia forums, I see that a manual download and installation is necessary,( from 2009  ) then windows alerts to further necessary updates.
I have the link here http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/13159/problem_with_msmxl_core_services_4_x_update
This is all a bit above me, but i trust Secunia, and it appears if you are not running Secunia, you could have a possible vulnerability, not reported by windows updates

Question, have you checked your hidden updates ?

I have just checked them, they are all Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tools.
This was not a hidden update. I have scanned with Secunia hundreds of times since 2009. If was hidden it would have been flagged before. Have you scanned with secunia ? http://secunia.com/
Maybe this problem is unique to just a few machines

My W7/32 does not get this message when I run Secunia, however my Vista Bus/32 does get the warning from Secunia. My windows update on Vista shows that windows is up to date.

I too got a notification from Secunia for my MSXML 4.0. I googled and found MSXML 4.0 SP3 (KB2721691). Installed that. And Secunia is happy again. And Windows Update was saying nothing new was available.
