windows vista?

    this is out in just 2 months,

    anyone know of any pre-order sites etc etc?

    or some info for the average joe like myself, any info, gimme :)

    im looking at the ultimate version of the software, but prices they are talking about are $400 / £260 or so, so they can feck off.

    £325 at pcworld for us UK buyers, they can get lost... i aint paying that.


    but my question now, would be:

    what version will everyone be buying, the basic seems fine... as the other versions just have other things which i dont even use or need, excrypting drive and adding things like photo sharing and all that, i dont need these.

    as the difference is more than double in price, surely there must be alot more in the ultimate version compared to the basic, surely?

    this page has info on the Vista editions. you can decide for yourself which version is worth paying for (if any).

    how much are the upgrade versions?
    i think i will wait for ages before i get vista so they can fix some of the early bugs like i did with windows xp.

    it looks like windows vista premium will be the best buy according to the link above.

    I will be getting either the Home Basic or Business version depending on the free "Express Upgrade to Vista".

    those prices are for americans if they are true...

    they dont match for us brits, we over-pay for everything here.
