After installing the latest Windows Updates, I noticed that an unusual folder (named 051c7b034ddfc311bfb1da1e524d) was created on the Root directory of my Windows 8.1 x64. The respective folder contains many folders/files... (please, see my attachment) I guess these are associated with the Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime update... 1. Did you notice a similar issue? 2. If yes, how did you deal with it?
You can delete the files. See Update failure - KB3001652 I deleted the files working outside of Windows. I used a WinPE boot USB drive with Paragon Hard Disk Manager, deleted the files with the "File Transfer Wizard".
I deleted the "persistent" folder with the Boot-Repair-Disk. Any other Linux CD will do the job, I guess... Hiren's Boot CD, too.
