    Hi,

    I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have reformated my pc. I am using windows xp and I have NOD32 running on it. I then installed sp2 and everything was running fine. After windows had updated for the first time with 74 updates and installed them when the computer restarted nod32 splash screen would just stay on the screen and I can't get on the internet. I have restored windows to the previous point and it has fixed the problem. Short of installing each update one-by-one does anyone know which update effects nod32. Thanks

    When I reformat, my windows disk is so old it's pre SP2 so I have around 80-90 updates on top of this. None have made NOD freeze like yours had. I've had to do this a few times now and each time there has been no problem for me so I don't really know what to suggest other than try them all again and see if the same thing happens.

    None of the updates affects NOD32 as far as I know .

    Update your Windows without worries and the you can try the following:

    1) Download a fresh copy of NOD32 v 2.7 for your correct operating system
    Trial version
    Full paid version

    2) Goto Control Panel-> Add/Remove programs and Uninstall NOD32

    3) Reboot

    4) Goto C:\Program files and manually delete the folder ESET

    5) Repair Winsock
    Windows XP SP2 / Windows Vista

    Goto Start –> Run
    type cmd and click OK.
    Type netsh winsock reset
    Press ENTER . Restart immediately !

    Note that there is a space between the commands , example netshSPACEwinsockSPACEreset

    6) Run Windows Disk Cleanup
    Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools->Disk Cleanup
    Check to "clean" your mail drive , check all the options , confirm with OK.

    7) Install NOD32 from the file you just downloaded in step 1
    Use Typical settings

    8 ) Make sure you have stable i-net connection and NOD32 (nod32krn.exe) is allowed to go through your firewall and Update NOD
