I'm running 4.2.71.2 on XPsp3. I get random event 7031 errors in the event log with an HTT*.tmp file left in my temp folder at the same time. These temp files are using up all my disk space. I've uninstalled, run the cleaner in safe mode and reinstalled and still have the problem. I found this post from the past that seems similar but my .tmp files aren't locked so I can delete them. https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=262729&page=2&highlight=temp folder filling

Does disabling POP3 or HTTP checking make a difference? Could you check the active network connections in Protection status - Network connections and check whether the temp files remain on the disk even if there are no applications actively communicating via http / pop3?

I'm back out at this job today. His drive was full again. I can't duplicate the problem though. When I try it the files are created and as soon as I close the browser they are deleted just like they should be. o_O
