i have re-run my applications disk. but now when i start the computer it gets as far as the windows xp display screen, goes black and then starts all over again like it is stuck in a loop.
i have tried chkdsk and chkdsk /r but this does not help, i have tried the f5 key and all the options there (safe mode, etc..) but it still dose the same.
when i try to do a recovery it comes up with the message... error 1681. can not open file.
    can any one help....:doubt:

michaelbear1, first, welcome to Wilders! Besides PROROOTECT's suggestion, perhaps more info on your system like Make, Model, OS Service Pack, Installed Software, etc., would help more Wilders members to respond. Be as detailed as possible!
