Are there any programs that can watch folders\files and sync on change over local network?

Not having to log in to a website etc

mango, perhaps you want to check out Microsoft's SyncToy v2.0 to see if it can do what you are seeking to do.

Be aware that you need to have Microsoft .NET Framework v2.0 installed in order for this software to run. I use it to sync music files between 2 external hard drives and it does the job for me. If it works for you, post back so others can know.

im also using syncback free, same thing as synctoy. Using that on certain files and folders.

With syncback etc you have to set up schedules when to sync, often many profiles just to sync several times a day.

what i liked about "Windows live sync" is that it synced changes and new\deleted files when they where detected.

    Mango,

Take a look at SyncBack SE http://www.2brightsparks.com/

It allows Sync / BackUp over network. I'm not sure if the free version offers it, but you can check it out. It's a very versatile app. I use it for data BackUp and Mirroring My Docs to a secondary drive.

Edit: Guess I'm a little late.

StncBack does this also. It's listed as "On Change" Any change invokes the chosen process.

You'll have to drill down a bit into your profile.

    managed to set it up.

seems to work, but going to test it a little first.

if used on two computers syncing the same folders\files is it best to use the same profile?

just thinking if pc 1 syncs to pc 2, would pc 2 try to sync the unfinished file back
