My wife uses Windows Live Mail,Wind. 7 for email. It has started popping up an error every time it starts. (There is an error when attempting to connect to the Windows Live Calendar service.) I can't see that there is any problem with the calendar How can I stop this pop up?

No but the problem is the same (migration) for Hotmail, Live, Outlook and MSN mail accounts.
Outlook Hotmail Connector or the (limited) Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) protocol are stopped in favour of an actual Exchange connection.
The connection with Windoes Live mail 2012 is done through Active Sync.
To get the mail working without errors you can try:

Okay, the problem is that Windows Live Mail 2012 and the way that it connects to Microsofts email services (MSN/Hotmail/Live/Outlook) is no longer supported by Microsoft.
That's why you get the popup with the calendar error, but fortunately the mail still works.
The solution is to remove the existing account and add that account again using manual configuration with the IMAP settings.
After that the mail keeps working and you don't get the calendar error.
