    Hello,
I have tried downloading that rougue antispyware, and the download was actually blocked by ESET.

Please send a log from ESET SysInspector to support[at]eset.com with this thread's url enclosed.

Yes, it should work with the exception that it won't detect files hidden by rootkits (if there are any). Anyways, rogue antispyware should not have such impact on the system, it's important for it to have the system functional so that you can use and order it. We'll see if the log sheds more light.

our support team had a rash of infections of this very same threat last week. Relatively easy to remove (but tedious) - so I wonder if there is a new variant somewhere that doesn't get detected?
