I've seen stuff mentioned in the windows 8 thread, but this is specifically focused on refresh/reset with lots of screenshots, so you might a bit of zoom-in, so to speak.

Here's a neat tutorial introducing the new recovery options in Windows 8, including Refresh, which lets you restore the system to its default settings without touching personal data, and Reset, which will completely remove all personal files and apps and restore the system to the default state. If you're not keen on using system imaging and data backups, these solutions might be ideal for you

I've tried the refresh and it worked nicely. It's one of the reasons I would buy Win 8. This would especially be great for my parents when things get froggy.

I just hope they reenable safe-mode as well... it was really helpful.

When I messed up my EMET settings I had to do a System Restore, which was automated so it didn't even pick the right one.

There needs to be some more control involved by the user.

"So you might be better of with system imaging, executed periodically before big changes".

Comodo Time Machine team expected that Windows 8 brings snapshotting technology.
    Seems just reset/repair aren't enough.
But CTM has its development stopped :'(
