Just as the title asks, Local or Connected account?

Select both if you have a Local and a Connected account on the same computer.

As for me, I use a Local account, because I haven't found a use for Metro/Modern UI applications.

    Where is none option?
Anyways I voted local since this is what I used to have when I ran Windows.

On Windows Server 2012 R2 (free from DreamSpark) there is only local, but I can access Windows Store and connect my Hotmail account after some modifications.

Don't see the need to use cloud account, so it's local account for me.

Local, but I was quite angry, when I had to create an account just to download Windows 8.1, obviously everything about my PC has been downloaded by MS.

i tested both and came to the conclusion that i did not need any of the Metro apps.

so i went back to a local account.

Do you mean you had to create/have a Microsoft Account to download Windows 8.1, you had to create/have a Microsoft Account *and* log into your computer with it in order to upgrade to Windows 8.1, or something else?

Are you in a "the gift that keeps on giving" situation?

Connected. With that I gain the ability to sync things between my desktop and laptop. I figure I lose nothing as both connect to the internet and if there is any info they want from me they will take it in either case.

    Hi Jack,

What about the network. Can you access to anyone in your home network or can they access to your computer?

By the above, I don't mean Homegroup.

    Best regards,

    Mohamed
