    I got a copy of windows 7 with key from a guy. It's a copy unsealed etc. Could it be altered to contain spyware and back doors? Wouldn't av catch if it was?

    it could contain malicious stuff, which could go undetected by any AV software, if properly implemented.

    do you know the guy? what sort of copy is it, on a genuine MS DVD or USB drive? is the key genuine, e.g. sticker?

    the matter is not really related to this forum, and asking the questions would at least indicate that you somewhat do not trust the deal. hence if in doubt would recommend to not use it
