I have recently started using Windows 7100 RC. Previously, I used Vista Ultimate and always connected up to the net via Swiss VPN. I have tried to connect to Swiss VPN using Windows 7, but cant connect - I just get a message saying "verifying username and password" - and it never connects - just seems to hang there and wont respond.

Has anyone else had this issue or know how I can resolve it?

Is there a 3rd party app I can use?

I use OpenVPN 2.1 RC 15 successfully with XeroBank on my Windows 7 Build 7100 x64 box.

    See here:

    http://openvpn.net/release/openvpn-2.1_rc15.zip

Make sure when you install it, you check to install it as Administrator and check the box that says backwards compatibility. You need to install it as if you were running Windows XP SP2 or it will not install under Win7.

SwissVPN is not an openvpn based service. It won't work this way.
