I've understood for some time that Win 7 Pro support will end at some time in the distant future and that support for the lesser versions will end sooner, but I've lost grasp of the dates. Can someone bring me up to date on that. Thank you.

Security updates will end in January 2020, so we still have three years of support. Even after that I expect some kind of Pos Ready trick that will allow users to get security updates.

    Thanks very much.

Maybe, with luck, people will have moved on and will be trying to hack only W10.

Hehe, similar as with Windows XP. Hackers started to target Windows 7 users and left Windows XP users alone :)

It brings to mind cattle ranchers in the Amazon region, who drag a sacrificial cow across the river. The piranha attack the cow by the zillion, and meanwhile the ranchers drive the rest of the herd across the river, downstream.

Is there not supposed to be a difference in support of Win 7 Pro and Win 7 Lesser Versions? I'm looking at a Lenovo laptop with both 7 Pro and 10 on it.

No, support for all Windows 7 versions ends at the same time.
