true maybe lie lie lie based on your words its a very simple conclusion for you: support windows 7/8 or not. if you consider windows 7/8 as worthy although EOL, just do it, but do not ask, makes no sense.
Its not that simple, the current driver signature workflow relies on the CI builds from Github. And github will not support the 2019 runner indefinitely, by now there is already the 2022 and 2025 one out and booth use Visual studio 2022 which can no longer target windows 7 when compiling drivers, only VS 2019 and earlier can. So no CI runner with VS 2019 and we can not build and sign windows 7 compatible drivers. Building them at home would break the workflow and introduce liability issues, with the CI build its documented and traceable if someone would commit some malicious code who it was and when. On a side note Mozilla just decided to extend Firefox's windows 7 support till September 2025, so in a bit over half a year there will be no supported browser for windows 7. This is also something to keep in mind without a secure browser using windows 7 becomes an order of magnitude less secure than it is already. BTW: Question to all the windows 7 users whats your reason to keep using windows 7?
There I fixed it, so now to all the windows 7 users whats your reason to keep using windows 7? Its a fair question and people in charge of infrastructure and software will ask this, the general people will say that windows 7 is insecure and the only reason to use it is negligence. So it would be good to have a list of reasonable explanations why reasonable people still use windows 7.
