    windows xp was the first N version and didnt include media player.

    They have already taken the mail client out of 7, but nobody seems to much care about that one... Interesting.

    Im glad there is some componants that have been removed in 7 and more can be removed if you wish.
    I hate having to patch programs windows has that i dont even use.
    it reduces the attack surfuce by not having them installed.

    Its annoying in windows xp to have outlook express installed,its annoying to have windows mail in vista installed when i dont use it plus its been replaced by windows live mail.

    this way users only have installed what they use.

    Best would be to have install options for all this stuff, so you can pick and choose when the OS is installed. Treat it like a regular software install with options.
