You’ll need a Microsoft account to set up future versions of Windows 11 Pro

And that's the end of me using Windows.

I don't have a Pro license but would have considered it for a new PC. They keep giving me reasons not to use Windows too.

I hope that they reconsider this until 2025 when support for W10 ends. Otherwise I will probably use one of these options, if they won't remove them:

I will soon start a series of articles, spread over the next three years, on how I'm going to migrate my workflows to Linux fully. It's going to be complicated, but I will start, step by step, program by program. It won't be easy, but I have no intention of playing the mandatory online account game or using Windows 11. The classic desktop users are on borrowed time anyway.

    Probably, but I shall persevere!

The mandatory account is less of an issue to me as I do use Microsoft 365.

Same here but it still sucks in any case. Someone needs to invent a time machine so we can go back 100 years and not have to deal with any of this. :D

I have no problems using a Microsoft account, I have more important things to worry about. ;)

That article claims a new dark mode Task Manager. I'm not seeing it.

There is a probability that Win.12 will be released before the end of Win.10 support.
And I highly doubt it will be installable on our current PCs.

Those who will not be able to upgrade to Win11 (end of support probably in the year 2031) have only one choice install a Linux distro.

Interesting and I was looking forward to this but I did not get the new Task Manager. I'm not sure if they aren't offering it to everyone or if something went wrong. I am on the specified build but it is still light in dark made and has none of the new features.

Agreed. I hope I am too old to care when this becomes an issue. I wonder how good Linux would be if they were to get all of the money we give to Microsoft for Windows?

As this specifically says the Dev channel it is more common than not for this to exist in the Dev channel. I hope they don't start doing it to retail copies but it's not going to make anyone buy a new PC if they do that.

I wonder if that watermark can be gotten rid of with a third party tool like Winaero Tweaker's. It worked when I had an annoying watermark "Evaluation Copy, expires...." back when I was in Dev channel. I tell you, it annoyed me--my eyes kept going back to that lower right-hand corner. :cautious:

Yeah, I expect if it is annoying someone will find a way to kill it.
