    +1.
It is not a easy thing to debug program basing on basic info. Several times I have reported and provided further info for Gnu/Linux distributions in beta versions to debug programs and I have seen this process. Some were fixed. Some were not, even after manually running debugger step by step, because program was using multiple threads and my basic debugger skills were not enough. I also know a basics of programming. I don't have a reason to believe Microsoft has some magic tools that can debug and fix every problem basing on some telemetry info.
Small subset of bugs can be debugged and fixed basing on telemetry, but it is a minority of problems.

Yes, telemetry do not magically solve the issue. To solve specific bug, bug report is the best while telemetry can assist to know the extent and conditions of the bug. But I've never felt that Windows error report helped any trouble I experienced in past.

Curious how many of you use such tools? I tried them when I first starting testing Windows 10 but quickly noticed that a lot of them just seemed to cause issues within Windows.

Perhaps you could make a poll. Personally, I don't bother with these kind of software.

    Personally, I don't bother with Windows ;)

If I need Windows or macOS, I use VMs.

Good idea. I don't use them either aside from the early days of Windows 10.

But damn, doing a clean Windows 10 install is rather alarming, if you go through all of the privacy options.

By default, they look at all keystrokes, for example, to help with your typing or whatever. Strange.

Only one I ever use (if I do use anything), is O&O's Shutup10. It works well without issues...

There's no way to know, I suspect. It's all obfuscated and encrypted.

I know. But that's why I said 'expert'. There should be people that can understand it, otherwise what is the point of Microsoft releasing the feature?

Pretty much every software analyzes user's data (security software, email clients, steam, office suites, pdf readers, etc), but people make a big deal out of it, when big names are mentioned.
What I mean to say, that experts have better things to do, that to look at some useless data. There were a few people, who analyzed, how much data is being sent to MS, regarding bandwidth.

Why would you take Microsoft's word about what data they gather?

I see no reason as to why they would lie. Honestly considering how many are anti-anything Microsoft, it would be bad for them to do so.

They say quality over quantity. Ever since Windows 10 was released, many users have advocated about how much of privacy nightmare it is. To the point many experts have created software in order to "improve" a user's privacy.

But now people can finally know what data Microsoft uses. And not simply how much data it is.

By improving user's privacy, they mean destroying user's experience. Then people complain, why is Cortana showing unrelated searches or why does not it show searches in my language, why does not Windows update work, why are not my apps syncing, etc. I have disabled everything and I do not have a single Windows process allowed in the firewall, it is a nightmare. :D

MS never made it a secret unlike google. It is well documented, what each setting does.

And that's why people who care about privacy don't use anti-malware apps that access remote resources. Local databases only!

And better, use Linux, where you don't need anti-malware apps :)

false, even if the chances of being infected are very low, Linux is can be compromised. It is why many uses AppArmor.
