It turns out the iso transferring from my pc to the media is not completed... that's the reason of the install can't find my hard drive :argh:
Thanks again Brian...Now my old mac book much more snappy with x86 comparing when using x64

I'm not sure how this "Win 9x" thing would cause all kinds of problems, but it still makes more sense to me, because like I said before, Win 10 is not really that different from Win 8. They introduced "virtual desktops" and a start-menu, but not a regular one, now it has "Live Tiles" (how impressive), stuff that most people hated in Win 8. :thumbd:

Exactly... the first thing that all testers should insist on is that they ditch that live tile junk attached to the start menu. IMO, anything "Metro" should be gone... But we all know that'll never happen. I'd hope that there is a way to at least hide that stuff somehow... maybe there is.

    So turn live tiles off?

MS haters won't have anything to complain about with Win10, or they risk being exposed as haters for the sake of hating, and with no real basis for that hate. I can't wait.

If it has anything "Metro" in it, it's junk. No hate, just facts. Non-touch desktop and laptop users don't need "Metro". Period....

First thing I did was right click all apps and uninstalled them (metro) then threw classic shell on, works great thus far, but really the whole start menu has been a bust, as live tiles don't offer me much in the way of saving time. By the time the news tile scrolled to the third headline, I was already on the news site looking at all the headlines. search everywhere/anything (my guess will be cortana, but if you have to click a button, then talk whats the point? It should be voice activated IMO) anyhow thus far it's is just a fancy name for bing search app that is un-removable from the task bar .

They've also talked up the "app view" feature by pressing "Alt+Tab" but that's already a feature in 7 so I'm not understanding why they are talking about it as if it is some new thing. The virtual desktop I can see, but not the app view.

So far it's 8.1 with a little makeup slapped on the areas PC users hated. It runs well and feels smooth, but the look of it still is crap IMO (I like aero and borders on windows) driver identification is just as good (for the drivers I use which I've never had a problem before) and the performance gains, well, perhaps marginal at best, but bench marks have not yet been taken so I'll wait until then to make the final judgment. We'll see how things work out when more updates come, but so far not blown away

    Kerodo,

We'll have to disagree here. I've removed the Win7 start menu and am using Metro for my start screen. It's much faster and customizable.

Ok, I will grant that some may like or want Metro, but I'm not one of them as you can tell. :)

IMO, if they want to make 10 usable by *everyone*, they should offer a way to hide or remove the Metro stuff, so that people can customize it as they see fit.

    Kerodo,

Yes, you can do that. Remove all the Metro tiles from the right hand side of the Win7 type start menu. Then only the familiar Start Menu will be seen. No tiles anywhere.

I'd say privacy in running the preview are dubious at best

MS needs to scrape as much information from you as they possibly can and use that data to deliver a better RTM.

This is what Beta programs are all about - saves them (MS) the expense on research.
