    I'll add my thanks as I just removed that KB also. I know Win 10 runs on my machine as I've it installed in one image. Why couldn't they have added a switch to get rid of that tray icon. More and more, I am liking Win 10 less and less.

    FWIW ~ I've read W10 Home = you must take what we send you Windows Updates.

    They've added new tasks in Task scheduler which can't be disabled. I've disabled it when they were first installed, but I guess that they updated them during one of last updates and changed permissions on them. I will probably uninstall update or add SRP deny execution rule for executable.

    I feel the same. I don't like Microsoft pushing me into an upgrade if I don't need it. I believe there's another word for what MS is doing: SPAM. Just my opinion.

    Well, at least they state that there will be a notification when the upgrade is ready to install and the user will be able to choose the timing. I was worried that it might install automatically. This is important since I want to image the OS and then remove my security software and disable my auto-starting apps beforehand.

    FWIW the 'Get Windows 10' app icon and notifications can be hidden from the systray by going to Customize.

    Interestingly, the Windows 7 machine I use isn't capable of running Windows 8 fully, mainly because the firmware doesn't support Secure Boot. The Upgrade Assistant listed 3 issues, but the compatibility check for Windows 10 tells me I'm "good to go" with no issues with devices or apps noted. Not quite sure what to make of the difference between the two.

    [Edited to add bit more info]

    I don't like getting pushed ether but the update is to my advantage especially if it is free' so I may have to buy a external sensor/camera for hello to work, I think you can logon the regular way(with password) till you get the sensor/camera in the mail then connect the sensor and configure Hello or stay with a password.

    That's true, but I don't like an unnecessary app running in the background.

    I've been playing with it for a while now in a VM. I just let it update to 10130 today. I think it's getting worse not better. They have fixed a few cosmetic issue, but some still remain. Since 10122 I am seeing a lot a "flicker" in program windows. While watching the updates being downloaded in Settings the area with the progress bar and updates list would disappear and reappear. I notice the same think inside the IE window. Edge does the same, plus it come up blank unless I start IE first. This all could be because I am running it in a VM though. It was not an issue before 10122 though.

    When I bought Win 8 pro of course I got a key with it.

    Then I got the Media Center free from the Microsoft offer. This changed my key to another one.

    Then I went to 8.1

    Now apparently if you upgrade to Win 10 from Win 8.1 pro with Media Center, you no longer get the Media Center.

    I dread to think what my key will be now :'(

    Additionally, if W10 "Home" edition is only being offered as the freebie update, I wonder what will happen with the MS Office suites currently in effect?

    Same here.

    The free upgrade is the same as the working one.
    7 / 8.1 Home -> 10 Home
    7 / 8.1 Pro -> 10 Pro

    One them of being: Windows Updates. This is the most interesting one. In previous Windows versions, you could control how updates were installed. But those with Windows 10 Home will have updates from Windows Update made available automatically. Only Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Enterprise users will be able to defer updates.

    Here Are the Features Windows 10 Will Remove When You Upgrade

    Is this some kind of sick joke? So you will be forced to install updates?

    It's not a service. It's a task that you can check out using Task Scheduler. You can go to Microsoft - Windows - Setup. There you'll find two folders with scheduled task that run this program. After first install all of this tasks could be disabled, but when I tried to disable them today, I didn't have permission. So I decided to uninstall KB3035583.
