I have created the USB per the image above your last post, all created fine, but when I turned on legacy mode (since it was disabled) a warning popped up saying "the selected OS may not be able to boot if you choose this option", my question is after I select it, and boot into that menu, will there be a chance to re get into the BIOS and change it back to UEFI mode?

Yes, you can switch the BIOS from Legacy to UEFI to Legacy to UEFI whenever you like. Here are some hints from TeraByte...

Edit... Some BIOS allow you to boot Legacy media without changing the Secure Boot UEFI setting. If CSM is enabled in the BIOS, the Boot Menu will give you Legacy and UEFI choices.

I have BIBM on the HD so I don't use it on UFDs often. I just checked and the UFD is Drive 0 so you will need to click the drop down arrow and choose Drive 1 to see your HD.

With CDs, Drive 0 is the HD. But with UFDs, Drive 0 is the UFD.

Not sure if my HP does, but it's nearly impossible to change the boot order because of the functionality I have, (limited use of my right hand) so trying to type in the codes to change the order of boot is hard). I will keep trying though :)

I don't do this either. HD is first in the BIOS. I use the boot menu to boot a CD or UFD.

I hope they are also doing something about the windows installer folder and the windows update folder. The installer folder keeps hogging disk space and increases in size by half a gig after every windows update and this increase in size is after you have cleaned up the update backup files by using the disk cleanup or third party software. It gets worse when you have MS Office installed as well, which takes up half a gig after each update on its own. So, your C drive goes up by almost 1 gig every month. Now you add third party software installation files and you will find the windows installer folder taking up almost 10 Gb on its own after 6 months.

    Raza0007,

For what it's worth, my Win8.11 Installer folder is 3 GB after 2 1/2 years. Have a look at this....

    Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase

    ... makes a huge difference.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that I am on Windows 7. I do not know if they have made any changes in Windows 8.1 as I have not used it. But on Windows 7, the installer folder is a nightmare and you can not clean it manually either.

And like you, I have all my documents, music, videos, internet cache etc. folders on drive d. However, you can not move the windows installer folder or the windows update folder and these are the ones that keep on filling up.

Have you tried... (I don't know if it works in Win7)

    Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase

It dropped my Used Space by 2 GB after installing the Windows Updates a few days ago. I finished only 0.2 GB worse than before the updates. And that is fairly typical each month.

Free upgrade to W10 for genuine and pirated copies of Windows ! China is the largest market, however they are not the only country that has wholesale pirating of Windows operating systems. Guess the others do not merit the reward.

Just as you and J_L found out, your method does not work on Windows 7. However, I am encouraged by the fact that they have introduced such mechanisms in Windows 8, so hopefully Windows 10 will also have them.

I just went through most of the .msi and .msp installer files inside my Windows installer folder and a majority of them are MS Office 2013 patches. I recently did a fresh format and install of Windows in January, and after the first Windows update in January, my second update was after the March patch Tuesday. So, I have two .msi installers for each component of MS office suite inside my Windows installer folder. And if you include the MSOcache folder on the C drive that also contains the .msi installers of each Office component, I now have three .msi installers for each component of Office on my C drive (this is apart from the actual Office installation inside the program files folder). These will now keep on growing by almost half a gig after each update each month. I do not understand the logic behind storing all these installer files inside the Windows installer folder. At most they should only store the most recent one and remove the older ones. By the way, this is after I have cleaned the update back files and the patch cache files from my system.

They definitely need to change (or they may already have done this) in Windows 10 otherwise the portable devices will run out of the limited hard drive space very fast.

I am not surprised by this move from Microsoft to provide Windows 10 to everyone, Windows 7 and up, regardless of whether they have a genuine copy of Windows or not. They have been in a process to shift their business model from the license based model they had up till Windows 7 to a Apple/Google based model where they will provide the OS and then charge the app makers a percentage for each app's profits.

I can just see Microsoft Execs kicking themselves around 2009-2010 when they saw how Apple and Google have been making money from app makers and they must have thought we had a 90% hold of the consumer and business PC market why-oh-why did we not think of doing something similar. This is the reason why they tried to shove Windows 8 down everyone's throat.

However, with Windows 8 they tried to have it both ways i.e. charge license fees from the consumers and businesses, and percentage of profits from the app makers. They have now learned the lesson, so they are going to provide Windows 10 for free and only charge the app makers.

Build 10041... just like the last build... I hate the start menu, or at least the search functionality of it. More than I ever hated Windows 8. If this is going to be the new start menu I hope 3rd party replacements are an option. This is not usable in my opinion. Too slow while it loads Bing stories before it lets me search for local apps.

I will use Classic Shell for sure, just from the screen-shots I can already tell, that I won't be liking the new start menu.
