I cannot agree with the writer. My experience is that Win 10 is the best MS OS, I didn't have yet a single crash, BSOD etc. Its stability is stunning.
Well, I don't think I'd use the word "stunning" lol, but it's been quite good on my desktop and laptop. A big variable is the state of the OS before the "in place" upgrade to 10. If the OS hasn't been maintained, or already has issues, that may carry over into Windows 10. Perhaps some people think that upgrading to a new OS is going to fix underlying problems with the current OS, but that isn't necessarily true. There is also the matter of OEM driver support. The OEMs did not have very comprehensive information available when 10 was released about which models had support and could be successfully upgraded. As far as I can tell the OEMs are still playing catch-up in this respect. Also some users have not thought to check with the OEM before running the upgrade on what turned out to be unsupported hardware.
Even though Acer offers 4 driver updates for my model I didn't need install them, all Microsoft generic drivers brought by Win 10 work fine.
That's excellent and fortunate for you, but unfortunately it's not universally true. Personally I love 10 and I'm not looking back, but I still advise people to exercise a little caution and check with OEMs to make sure their PCs, printers, etc, are supported so they don't have a bad experience. Just yesterday I checked the Sony website regarding a customer's Vaio laptop; they are advising people to wait on the upgrade until compatible drivers ready. I think it's a good idea to heed the OEM's advice. Of course I didn't wait on my own systems; I threw caution to the wind lol, but I'm a tech and know how to start over if necessary.
Yeah, VAIO is terrible as regards the upgrade to Win 10. Speaks my own experience with my secondary laptop. As regards my Acer machine I think that Microsoft did the great job when evaluating and upgrading drivers before the upgrade to Win 10 was recommended. The said Acer drivers are two Bluetooth, VGA and Wireless LAN, that's all but I didn't need anyone. However I agree that machines having OEM need to be upgraded with caution and only as per recommendation by OEM vendor.
That is very true, until I found a faulty 3rd-party driver... And that POS called iTunes.
I saw the advice from Sony after I had finished upgrading a Vaio laptop from Windows 7. Not that I would have heeded their advice anyway, as I've upgraded various Windows 7 laptops to Windows 10, and it works fine on all of them, with no driver issues. It's even running fine as a clean install a 9 year old XP laptop.
Also, I wouldn't be depnding on Sony to provide Windows 10 support for older laptops, as manufacturers often don't provide driver support for operating systems other than the one that came preinstalled.
The next update is November 14. for edge..I don't see my default-Firefox changing.
Why would you download Yahoo Mail, just go to mail.yahoo.com.
maybe it allows you to view your emails offline as in outlook? i still wouldn't dl it, though.
From last year -- and Win10 is cross platform.
hmm-mmm, that explains it.

@Mrkvonic You can completely uninstall Windows Defender, using Windows Defender Uninstaller from raymond.cc. I had issues under Windowd 10 with WD being automatically reenabled (and slowing down my PC again), after I had disabled it. This tool completely removes it so it's gone for good.
remember if you use that tool make sure to have a good backup in case there is an issue.
