I have a custom built computer recently I upgraded the parts and have a new computer again, but I was wondering if I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 with my previous computer if Windows 10 would still be activated with my new computer?
Not sure I fully understand what you are asking but if this is an OEM license it is limited to the original PC. If it is retail and this PC is an upgrade from the original one I expect that it would work. Any PC where I have installed Windows 10 with a Windows 8.1 key it has worked fine.
if the hw id/fingerprint changes, the same license cannot be used with the new rig. but the question is to what extent did it change after the upgrade. ms allows w10 to be installed on the new hw if the component(s) you changed do(es)n't include the mobo.
