Window 7 - Freezing issue

    Have new laptop (windows 7) with ESET Smart Security installed. No problem with installation. I am experiencing sporadic freeze/lock-ups - no mouse or keyboard functionality and have to do a hard shutdown and reboot. Was wondering if anyone may be having a similar problem? Thanks.

    Couldn't it be that you're using a Lenovo nb? Have you tried installing ESS 4.2 beta which has a workaround for such a Lenovo nb-related issue incorporared?

    i am having the same problem with two Lenovo Laptops. Is it a known bug?

    I wouldn't call it a bug. Almost every security / backup software has problems with one subfolder of the System Volume Information folder on Lenovo notebooks. This subfolder is excluded by default in v. 4.2. Could you try installing it to see if it really helps?

    Same here, after I installed NOD32 64bit to my Win7, system freeze after every reboot at the point when NOD32 loading. However, when I run restore system to the point before NOD32 install, the system go back to normal. Can anyone help ?

    Have you tried installing ESS 4.2.35.0 as suggested?
