    Hi all,

I am receiving a warning from our NOD32 AntiVirus (version 4.2.71.2 with sig. vers 6871) when downloading the latest version of WinZip 16.0 (Build9715) from the WinZip website. NOD is complaining about a potentially unwanted application Win32/Systweak. What is interesting is that I do not get this warning if I manually scan the downloaded exe file by right clicking on it and selecting "Scan with ESET NOD32 Antivirus" in the Windows Explorer context menu. I am wondering if this may be a false positive as I have never received this warning in the past when downloading WinZip updates. Has anyone else received these warnings lately?

It is not a false positive, the detection is correct. Detection of potentially unwanted applications is optional and is enabled only with user's consent. For this reason, the download was not terminated automatically like it is when a threat is being downloaded but you were offered an option to continue with the download (the yellow window was a sort of notification).

Would one be required to disable PUA's in order to update this software and others that flag in this manner ?

At user's responsibility. ESET warns users about the presence of a potentially unwanted application in the package and it's up to the user if they allow it or not. ESET always prompts the user for an action when a potentially unwanted application is detected.
