Win 32 Error

    hi i keep getting an error on restart Generic host process for win 32 services has encoutenred error so i send error report ...y duz this happen?? i scanned 2 virus scanners for viruses avg and trend nothingo_Oo_Oo_O spyware 2..so i dont get it?? any advice would be appreicated thanks in advance maddawgz

    We need to figure out which service is actually the one causing the error. Generic Host Process for Win32 Services, or svchost.exe, is just a shell for numerous actual Windows services. Check out Event Viewer to see if you can determine which service is actually failing.

    Hi Alec how do i do that ? can u explain how thanx is there an error somwhere ni the pc?? I hope its not avg .. i like my AV !! Im pretty dumb wich pc's...so helppppppppppppppppppppppppp lol maddawgz :rolleyes:


    ok found the log thingo this is what it says

    then trouble shoot says this

    I noticed that error has appeard in the viewer a few timeso_O what do i do now?? thanks maddawgz



    I reboot and it doesnt happen?? only now and again...

    my startup is as follows
    AVG
    Msn messenger
    Anti Crash 6.3.1
    Incredimail
    Giant antispyware

    the newest being Anticrash!! thanks again for ur help o_O

    OK goto start, click 'Help and Support'; then in the interface under 'Pick A Task' click on 'Use Tools to view your...' and then click on 'Advanced System information' and check the Error Log. This will tell you waht errors occured during bootup. Not exactly Evnet Viewer but might be helpful nonetheless.

    Hi there Firecat that was a bit easier...ok only found this on that date
    Wednesday, 23 February 2005 Applicatio n Hang Hanging application vidcap32.Exe, version 4.0.0.0, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000.


    vidcap32.exe no idea??...


    also went here
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
    there is a defualt (value not set) is that normalo_O
